The New MXT

Has anyone seen photos of the new MXT 2 yet? My brother in-law works for White's and was able to snap some pictures of the prototype. I can't until he gets those pictures developed!
He said it looks completely different from the MXT 1. New colors, larger coil, and an interesting lcd display.

Hmmmmmmmm... interesting. Get those pictures developed as soon as possible!
I read an article somewhere that said the Mxt 2 will have basic underground mapping technology. Apparently it will also have a built in MP3 player?
Hank

Yeah, it is being built using technology from Apple Computer. Apparently
they are integrating an iPod on it so you can play a tune of your choice for a given VDI, or --for those that prefer to hunt in silent search mode, you can play music instead, until the mxt getsa signal that is above the Disc. level.
Man, how do these rumors get started?

That shows realtime picture of objects underground. who knows?

I read on another forum that the new MXT-2 will have a gpr (ground penetrating radar) device which is what Hank mentioned.
That would make all the other detectors obsolete. I'm selling all my detectors so I won't get stuck with them.

Based upon the responses to your post, I really don't know how to view what you were really trying to say in your post.
Assuming you were not trying to stir up trouble, and indeed spoke the truth, I (for one) look forward to seeing some pictures of a new MXT model.
I own an MXT and it is currently one of my favorite detectors. To me, knobs & toggles are much more user friendly than MENU screens to scroll through.
A merge between the MXT & DFX would be interesting though, as there are some settings of the DFX that I wish were on the MXT.
Please keep us informed. Some of us care what's down the road for White's.

1: Removing the Prospecting Mode but leaving the
ability to read ground in either relic or coin mode.
2: Switch to change from 3 to 15 khz.
3. Enhanced recieve on sensitivity with little or
no noise with sens. maxed
4. Actually the MXT CR Pro.
5. True AM mode with ID
6. Depth reading increased to 12"
7. 10" spoked coil with control on outer sens. knob
while turning the inner knob detunes the outer part of coil with the detector now "seeing" a 5" inner coil. Neat idea but not new.
8. Big debate on color changes
9. Not the MXT E Model
10. Hip-Mount optional
11. Rechargeable batterys included
12. 5 year warranty
13. Standard or Pro-Kit in R or C configuration
14. R configuration includes (relic) includes
standard coil,14" DD and 4 X 6 DD.
15. C configuration includes standard coil, 5.3
concentric and a 7" concentric that should be a
killer.
15. VCO- Your choice
16. Freq. offset to correct from outside interference
17. Optional 12vdc belt battery pack
18. 950 still available
19. Oh yeah, recharging jack in back but is 1/8 RCA
so as to no be confused with 1/4 headphone jack.
20. AND Finally.... A USB to download the latest
software revisions. Yesssssssssssss
Around a $1000 but should sell all they can make.

*Wouldn't it be nice

I have been lurking here off and on for two years.
(I am a Tesoro user and often post on several forms related to Tesoro.)
So can`t say I know y`all well enough to know if your joshin or not. I do however detect a hit of satire in these posts.
Since I sold one of my detectors last night, in the process of accumulating the funds for the purchase of an MXT. I really need to know if there is a new improved model that I should wait on?

Mojave Midgets at 10-12" and will pick em up under hot rocks. Basalt and Black Sand ??..No Problemo.
I'm gonna buy three houses and send the wife off for a full body lift with the nuggies I find with this one.
Just one question... how many mojave midgets does it take to make a troy oz?
Tom

The above post was meant in fun and does not apply to any person either living or dead.

Tom, wouldn't it be nice if at least SOME of those bogus rumors were true? Hey, a detector which has on-board GPS, automatic digging features, ground penetrating radar, hand warmer, coffee maker, nugget weigher, etc., WOULD be pretty cool, especially with a price of $199.95. As for "Mojave Midjets," the last 1,000 or so I dug weighed in at an average of 4 grains each, thus 120 of them to the troy ounce. HH jim

IN ANSWER TO THE COMMENT BY "RALPH" REGARDING A "SO CALLED" NEW MXT II TO CLEAR UP A MISUNDERSTANDING .....THE FACTS ARE .....THERE IS NO "NEXT GENERATION" MXT IN THE MAKING AT WHITES. WHAT YOUR COUSIN SAW, COULD ONLY HAVE BEEN THE PROTO PACKAGE OF THE NEXT MODEL OF PRIZM DETECTORS TO FOLLOW THE PRIZM V WITH A MORE EXPENSIVE MODEL WITH MORE FEATURES. THE MXT IS HEALTHY AND WELL AND STILL A TOP SELLER FOR WHITES. YOU SHOULD CHECK YOUR FACTS BEFORE THEY BECOME RUMORS. JIMMY SIERRA
