The new Gold Bug from Fisher..

Have been interested in getting started prospecting reading all of the great posts for newbies. I see Fisher has a new gold detector out and was wondering if anyone here has one and would it be a great starter machine for someone like myself? Should I focus my attention on a White's GMT or just bide my time to see what's coming down the pike now that Fisher has released there new machine?
Thanks in advance to all that reply.

Cabalas had a Teknetics T2 version before the field testers got prototypes to critique and make changes on. They were not the same units. The same thing is happening here. What Cabalas is advertising and the dealer release model will be different. Wait for the dealer release.

First Texas Products has some contractual obligations with some retailers, one of which is Cabalas. Cabalas is advertising a Fisher Gold Bug 3 which evidently is made just for them. I'm sure some of those are floating around. That is not the Gold Bug that some of us are waiting for. The Gold Bug we are waiting for is the one that will be released to the metal detector dealer market. When I spoke with FTP reps about it I was highly encouraged to wait for the dealer released Gold Bug, and so I highly encourage you to wait as well.

You know, I am wondering about the same thing. everyone is going on about how the one a Cabellos will be modified for Dealers??? Yet, as you say, it is being sold directly on the Fisher website and Kellyco?? Does this mean, no mods?

Well, I called Kellyco this morning, more to get a price on this thing to have it shipped to Canada. Anywho, it currently is in pre-order status there. They believe that they will have it in stock April or May and possibly later! When asked why, I received an answer that they were too busy keeping up with the demands of stocking the F-75 etc. Again, the agent that I spoke to was clueless. I hope this helps folks. I am of the mind to pay up for the Gold bug 2 as it has good reviews and is a known entity.
