The MXT kicks major butt

I had my best week yet for Civil War relics. I found a lot of lead, including 2 rare bullets and the most brass i've ever found. A grapeshot ball was just icing on the cake[attachment 70675 DSCN9347.JPG]

Heres a little brass, including a couple of buttons that are possibly civil war.[attachment 70677 DSCN9358.JPG]

This is an item i'm not sure is a button. I found this on a home site on a field that had CW activity on it. Its about the size of a half dime and has a crown on the top with what looks like 2 anchors crossing each other. But on the back is a hole like a snap on button or something with C F Co around the edge[attachment 70680 DSCN9361.JPG][attachment 70681 DSCN9362.JPG]

Heres another i'm not sure is Civil War. Its half dime sized and has "KEY" on the front. The back is mostly rusted away, so i cant get any backmark letters off it

Last but not least, 2 of my nicest bullets iv'e found so far. The top one is a Dimick around .40 caliber and is probaby worth a little money . The bottom is a .44 caliber ringtale sharps

Real nice finds!!!! I had my MXT out this weekend as well, but didn't do as well as you did. I only found three 3-ringers and two pistol balls. Yep, the MXT is a good machine. We have real bad dirt in areas, here in Alabama and I think one of the few machines that can handle it, is the MXT.

The button you found with"Key" on it is a bib overhall snap. Found alot of them over the years here in MO. Key still makes bibs for fashonable farmers!!
Here are my MXT finds for the weekend also. The button on the left is a Eagle Cuff. It all came out of a "worked out" camp south of me. Where do you live in Missouri? I live near Nixa.............

You know where Branson is.....I'm just North of there and about 5 Miles from Wilsons Creek Battlefield:whites:

Nice going John, I am really enjoying my MXT as well. I guess I am in the same city as Momule, have yet to meet him. He is a really good relic hunter as well.

MXT kicks butt! That it does. That it does.
I had an IDX pro a few years ago but wasn't getting out so sold it. I started up again buying an Ace 250.
Nice little machine for the money. A couple months back I bought an MXT used, and I have to say
I am starting to use it more and more. Just my opinion but I think the VID is MUCH more accurate not to
mention that the MXT seems much more powerful.

Great finds you posted.

Hi, Missouri John! I grew up just north of you in Ste. Genevieve County....Avon, to be exact. Sure wish I could get back there now! I know so many old abandoned sites, many I'm sure have never been touched. I knew every rock, bush and Copperhead in those hills!! I found lots of old things back then, even without a detector: musket balls, rusted weapons, a Civil War cavalry bugle, ZILLIONS of Indian artifacts. Would give most anything to get my MXT and Quattro over some of that ground!

Hey John, I'm no expert on military buttons, but my guess is that 1st button is possibly a British Royal Navy Button, based on what I've seem of British Buttons.
Best of LUCK, Nice Finds, Les
