The most pathetic hunt ever..

Uncle Willy

New member
This evening I hit four playgrounds right after school was out and found this really pitiful amount. I couldn't believe it. Course I did find a ring but that don't balance it out. I'm crushed. :)

Bill

I thought my pathetic hunt was bad when I found only three pennies one day in a playground. Gee Willy, your's just takes the cake...

That is probably what makes treasure hunting so exciting. Some days you do good and some days you don't. It makes you look forward to tomorrow. You swing that coil and then you can't believe what you have found. You know that day will come. If we won't believe that, then we quit going out.

...Okay let's not sugar coat this: considering your are THE ONE AND ONLY BR, that is kinda pitiful. :bouncy:

Yet, we both know that much more awaits and today just wasnt the day. For the record, I have done worse. If you'll recall, I recently had a 6 zincer hunt. Yep, six entire, whole, complete Memorial zincers.
Whooooop-f-*-%-&-#-ing - eeee.

Actually, the bright side looms large, on this one. You got a ring AND a new Chuck E. Cheese token. The only thing that tops that is a Heads-Tails coin!

Im tippin a Rolling Rock for you, Bill, and all the others of us who are trying, but just not having a time of it. :beers:

That's more coins than I've been finding lately Bill. And that's after 3 hours of hunting each time. I know how you feel.

Ah the weekend is here and I'll see how the ring and quarter supply is in the sports fields. Maybe I can improve my score. :)

Bill

I hunted a giant playground one day and found one lousy stinkin Lincoln. I thought maybe the plague had hit that school. :)

Bill

You'd think just one kid would be kind enough to lose one coin.
I know, huh? What do the little buggers think, that we're doing this for fun or worse, for our health? Geez!

Maybe it's time to put the new gun away for awhile and pull out some of your old weapons again Bill. Maybe some old unit with a different freq. will sniff something out.

I suspect that it just aint there to start with. After all, even the bst detector will leave you dry if there isnt anything there.
Sounds like Bill needs some new spots to hunt, not new gear.

I've got a bunch of spots I ain't hit in a long time but they are on the other side of town or out in the boonies. The other side of town here is 30 miles. Course in L.A. the other side of town is 150 miles.:)

Bill

...Yeah Im a firm believer in keeping it close to home, as well.
30 miles could be a wasted trip for a bunch of trash and a few gleanings. Guess it's all in the perspective.

Now, I didnt say that, ol bud. You have likely led a life that would leave old Papa Hemingway in envy, to hear your accounts of it. About as colored and storied as my own, as I reckon it!

But them playgrounds have about played out there in that little Oregon town. You've pummeled them into submission, Bill. Time to look around the vacant lots, knock on a few widow's doors and so on...

Maybe Bill can tell Monte that he shouldn't hunt on his turf!
I know how you feel Bill. I seem to be suffering from a serious coin drought as well. Went out yesterday for 4 hrs hunting and only snagged 6 coins for a total of $7.25. It has been the same ever since I've had the Ace. Took the X-Terra out and went over the same ground, just to make sure I haven't missed anything and the Ace has got most of it. Just unfortunate timing. I think that we've just had a lot of tourists through town lately, and there aren't a huge amount of parks to hunt in.
Mick Evans.
