The Lost Treasure you havent found. Yet

We all got stories of Treasures we have found. How about something you've been working on. I'll tell you guys my modest little Treasure hunt that's been going off & on for about 5years.
A grade school playground near me. It's not hunted much. I've been told by 3 different grounds keepers of a nice ring a young teacher lost a good while back. The area is fenced in and about at least a half acre in size. New mulch is applied every spring. Unless it was eyeballed I give it a 90% chance of still being there. The only clue is. It was lost in there and no one's turned it in. Right now it's my Lost Dutchman story. You got one?

That will be a cool trophy and make for a good write up someday! I watch Craigslist lost and found for treasure to seek, or for an idea of where things get lost. Allegedly, theres a 2oz gold bracelet lost up here in the Big Lake this past summer, so I go look for that when I can...problem is the sand changes daily, we have gale force winds at the moment, the yearly window of opportunity when the lake is flat and warm enough to hunt is small, you get maybe 10 decent days out of the summer when conditions are perfect. Then, since its link, its not gonna be a good signal...Somebody else may have found it and not gotten a hold of the owner who posted, and they are not quite sure exactly where it fell off, "waist deep water" well, that could be only a foot deep water now under a sandbar, or 8 feet water now if the sandbar has moved, or they could have sold it and said it was lost, or it could have fallen off on the beach, etc......so this could be a fools errand..one things for sure, cant find it sitting around in the house!.
Anyway, all of us should have some sort of story about lost treasure, since folks always talk about that when we meet them out detecting...and its neat to get the story on how an item was lost when you do a return.

My Mother in law often talks about a house that was on their farm that had burned down in the late 1800's. Somewhere out in "the back Forty". Although I doubt it would yield much in the way of old coins and the like it should have quite a few artifacts around that would be fun to find. Like Mudppupy's situation the days to hunt for it are limited as I either have to get out to it (once I find it) before they start to plant, or after the harvest and before Deer hunting season. I was unable to get out this season but am going to try extra hard come this spring to search.
