I thought was a mistake! The faceplate looked like one of those phony tottler phones-icons pasted on plastic. I was delighted to find that was only outward appearance-as was the almost weightlessness. The depth was adequate-too much for some areas-I ran at only 3 bars sensitivity with 4 bars in some places! I surely wasn't expecting the two rings! Will checkthem out after work. The notch worked g?eat but took a few minutes to figure it out despite the instructions-yes I read them. The disappointment? NO last use memory-you have to reset from default. Once you find out it's not a toy-it's a great buy!

It looks like buttons just painted on-but you can feel a slight raised portion beneath the icons. After further use, I found I could not sweep at the competition pace l'm used to-had to learn to slow down. I forgot to mention the 3 tones-which were really nice. I'm used to the zincer being in the high tone region, so I had to adjust to checking the meter-except in the notch mode. I got what I paid for-something to use when I needed to search larger areas and didn't have to swap the sniper coil on my Ace, yet still have all the ID features. It's a nice detector, but not anything outstanding.
