The Littlest Compadre, Mods

Hi. This is probably the smallest you can get a Compadre, noting in my opinion, you don't need a arm support on a 2 pound detector. ADVISE, the first thing you should do when you open up one of these detectors is photo the wires coming from the headphone jack to the PC board. They are VERY FRAGILE and will gladly break off of the PC board when you're not looking. Mine did :surprised: I had to do lots of research to find where they came from. I went ahead and added a plug and jack to the unit, so I could later add an 8 in coil as needed. I used cheap CB mic plugs. There were a number in my junk box. The Tosoro style plugs are about $25.00 each :surprised:
I chose, from watching Youtube videos about Compadres, to hold off on further mods, for the moment, until I've finished testing. Thanks for reading. Any comments or questions would be welcome Happy New Year. :beers:

Oh! The new rod assembly are from an A.H. Pro detector I bought on E-bay for little. The handle I made from bicycle parts (courtesy Cupajo)

Your detector looks so light, wonder if it hovers in mid air...LOL nice job.
