I played with this to day the learn advanced feature. I want to Reject dime's nickels , ever thing accept Quarters in this one area I'm hunting, Alot of lead sinkers etc .Will this program do this? Eliminate it all and just accept one type of coin ? Thank you for your time, Oh i got all the way through the program today but had trouble getting the machine to save in the save discrim

hi! I'm a Explorer Newbi too. From what I read according to Andy Whatshisname's book, Exploring the Explorer we certainly can teach the explorer to reject everything except a single coin. I played around with the learn and reject features and just for the heck of it I created a gold ring and silver coin program for fun. I haven't been out to try it out yet, Ive actually only taken the Ell out twice so far since i got it last month. If you havn't got andy's book yet I highly recomend that you do. Andy's book is a lot more clear as to what all the features are for.

OK i think i can answer this question as i used both an explorer 2 and SE for 2 years and did a lot of testing in the field using learn functions.
The conclusion i came to after extensive tests was that the feature does work but tends to miss many "learned" targets like coins when detecting in areas with a lot of foil etc. . I did a really thorough search once under a tree where many coins of the same type were known to be lost. I used the learn feature to program this specific

I might try it because im on a sandy beach area where there is not a lot of trash but there is alot of black sand in areas

Andy Sabisch. That's his name. Here's a link to a dealer that according to their web site has some for sale. It's way on the bottom.

I imagine that many other dealers offer it. I also heard a rumour the he's writing another book about the Explorer series.

It's not a rumor. Andy has said it himself. It's actually a 2in1 book. It features the E-TRAC and SE series together. It is supposed to be out in October I believe. It should be a very good book.
