The lane after the rain stopped - 3 hours - :( :( :(

The rain stopped around 5:30, so to the lane I go hoping the rain god is gone and as it turned out, he was gone

Ran into my old buddy nitehawk, john and the new Loot King from Tenn. Mr. Quinton Barber

I was just south of you on the boardwalk during the fireworks. I was about 6 miles into a 10 mile run when the fireworks started and I pulled up a bench to watch.

I was thinking of going in the AM too but I doubt there will be much there then that wasn't there today. I may have to rack up some country backroads on the motorcyle and leave the lane to you and the rest for tomorrow. I think I'll make my return next weekend. :)

The professor is infinitely more patient than us Max. He is like a predator, waiting, watching until the time is right for the kill. Remember last summer. The key to the professor's patience is the fact that he has other interests to keep his mind in state of tranquility and a sense well being through other interests. In our case however, we EAT, SLEEP AND DREAM TREASURE. Consequently, our ability to separate our minds from this obsesive compultion to seek treasure shall not be quenched until we get our hineys out there and GIT 'R DONE! You could be obsessive compulsive about something much more unhealthy than treasure hunting right? Tenacious perseverence, I love it!

I think you're onto something.

I DID go out there on Tuesday in the early AM for low tide. Like 2 to 6 AM. I got a fair clad haul (just a few bucks) but nothing else. I decided to lay back and watch again. I haven't seen anything yet to indicate that was a bad move. :)

At least here, I doubt there is much to find right now since it has rained it's ass off for half the weekend. It's not like there were a bunch of folks out there dropping stuff, because there WASN'T.

The season is young and I AM patient. There are MANY hours of low tide hunting on the horizon.

I have been rollerblading too but I also do a 6.2 mile run every night of the week. On the weekend I like to push it up to 10 with a run at Seashore State Park or maybe do the boardwalk. Sometimes I go rollerblade the boardwalk and then run it. Tuesday I took off from work, so I metal detected the beach for 3+ hours and then rollerbladed for an hour or so and then ran for an hour or so.

Yes, I'm a total freak, but it makes me happy and keeps me fit.

Good for you Mike. Running will keep ya wiggling. It's good for the body and makes 3 or more hours of detecting heavy surf easy.

I do triathlons and all the sports that get to that end. I been a little off here lately but getting back after a calf pull. The water therapy is good for that.

Keep it up.

You guys can have that running stuff. Raced motocross from 1975-1989 amd my knees can't take the pounding, although they have never been injured. However, I can still surf hunt for 4 hours (which is an appetizer) and a full meal deal would be 8 hours for me. This keeps me buff and in shape.

Man, I did a little motocross. Guess I did it from 1956 until about 78 or so. Never was very good but had a great time trying. Do much better using my own power but the injuries have been worse. Fell off the bicycle in 2001 and broke 7 ribs, one collar bone, punctured my lung and gut with a displace rib and broke the wrist. Imagine that on a bicycle only going 42 MPH. I remember crashing at twice that speed on the Motocross track and getting up laughing with just a little rash.

Aside from a few cuts and doing battle with a medium shark once I have not been injured detecting. Knock on Wood.

I also did a liitle MXing. Had a wreck in a quarry pit in Charleston in 1985 that messed me up pretty good. Dislocated shoulder, concussion, and collapsed my right lung. Good times!

Laid in the hospital looking at bike magazines and contemplating my next machine. :rage:
