The land of silk and money.

G'day all. Just thought I'd post a couple of pictures. They were requested to be sent as a choice to go in the Searcher, but didn't get used. It would be a shame to waste them.

The first photo is the bulk of my finds from the first 3.5 months with the Ace. $480 pictured. The second photo is of my better finds, including 3 US coins, 2 New Zealand coins,my first ever token, the coin with the tea pot on it, is from The United Arab Emirates. The coin Under that is an Iranian Reale, as well as some pre decimal coins. The Sixpence is 1943, I think. This was my first fully silver coin. After 1945, all Australian silver coins were made of only 50% silver.
I seemed to have run into a bit of a coin drought again, so when I look at the top picture, it will remind me that the coins are still out there. I guess is if I change tact a bit and start hunting old coins, then I'll probably have a bit more luck around here. I just love hunting clad, but other towns are a bit to far away to hunt, for it to be practical.
Oh. BTW. The top picture has a silk sleeping bag liner for the back drop.
Enjoy.

Yeah. It's a step up from the "land of milk and honey". We won life's lottery buy being born into such affluence. From research I heard about a few years back; If you have $5 and any food in the house, then you are in the top 10% of wealthiest people in the world! Something to remember next time we feel like we're doing it tough.
Unfortunately, our local council won't give out information regarding who owns land in our district, so finding out who to ask is very difficult. Actually, only 800m to the East of the drive in, there is 3 whole blocks of ground that have had the dozer's push over all of the houses. They belong to the department of public housing. Most of them were burnt out by the local indigenous kids. But again I can't detect such a spot, as it is too dangerous. Even the Fire brigade, will only go in there under a police escort, as it is not safe them them either!
Bruce. I tend to be a shallow hunter as most of my hunting is on lawn. However, with the large coil on, I have recovered a coin size target under a swing at a depth of about 10 inches and a coke can at the beach at 14 inches.

The county I lived at in Fl. had a web site. On it you could click on the map and pinpoint a property. It would tell you who owned it and their address. It would also tell you the year the house was built and a whole lot more! The one incident where the police told me to leave, I checked that site out. I went back MDing knowing I was on public property and had no more problems with the authorities there.
Here in W.Va. there are no such web sites. I can go to the courthouse and get that information. What a hassle!
