Gulf Hunter once said,
"For ever fishing weight that you remove from a lake - THE LAKE SMILES"
Guess the lake had a big grin last night:biggrin:

Been kind of avoiding this area -
Very rocky bottom - Lots Of weights -
Yet the sign clearly says no fishing in this area - Go Figure

Craig If you get a 560 probe your shoulder wouldn't ache -
Ya pinpoint with your rig - Then bend over fan and pinpoint with the probe
Most of the time it's like bending over and picking something up off the ground!! 5 to seven seconds!!

Guess ya could get a back Ache??

How much does a scoop of sand weigh???
The water works to your advantage...with the probe

Umm.... that means I would have to hold my breath.. :) My scoop is light I use the Babbs scoop with the stainless lip.. most of the beaches I hunt are rocky and I rarely hunt in the wet sand its just today that I felt like it, 90% of my hunting is in waist to chest deep water and a probe wouldn't come in handy for me lol...

The mine level is dropping ...So this area I just wait till the water level drops
Then go back out - no need to go under...
Most of the areas I use a scoop and a floating basket...
No bricks here....just glass....most nights not even a ripple...

But...Gh said the surf at night can a little spooky
Specially when a school of fish bounce off your legs while in the mine
I can't imagine hunting the surf at night...
I've fished there...Bat rays, Stings rays, sharks, sculpin...

When I,m in the rocks at night - the smaller fish are spooked by my coil movement around the rocks...
Well, the big fish are so use to me and figured out that I stir up the smaller fish and are attracted to my head lamp

They jump all around me chasing the smaller fish...
Used to scare me ...thought someone was throwing rocks at me!!

But the beach is wide open..no one but me the fish and the large blue Herring's (Birds) that come to feed on the fish I stir up...

That is some beautiful gold. Enough fishing weights to open your own tackle shop. Looks like you cleaned out the lake and had a great time doing it.
Did you really dug 83 fishing weight in one hunt ??
You largely earned the beautiful ring !:clapping:
I didn't dig.. I use the 560 probe and fan the bottom
Pinpoint and locate a target in about 5 - 7 secs.
Trying to remove all the trash to get to the good stuff...
Its always overwhelming at a new spot on an old lake...
