In this case the smallest skeleton key I have ever seen or found! I have been hitting a couple farm fields of late, and today I came up with this 1800's mini skeleton key. It is shown here next to an 1865 IH that was found shortly before the key in the same field. Notice the same green patina on both! [attachment 9096 KeyIndian.jpg]
 
might be a railroad key, as I found one years ago and a man at the club said it was a railroad switching key...I think, as I haven't looked at it for a long time,. which has the same patina, but don't remember for sure if it is a skeleton key, but about the same length the best I can remember!! But I'm sure Steve would know being he is into collecting RR items! Congrats and keep on findin' those goodies! :clap:

Do ya reckon the key goes to the padlock that held the gold coins carried in the stagecoach? :lmfao:

That is cool, Mike...and the IH looks to be in good shape. You have been finding some great coins and cool relics lately. Now if you can just find them gold coins!!
