The itch finally got me.:garrett:

After three days of being cooped up, finally decided about 9a to get my cold weather fishing gear on and head to the woods for a bit of dirt fishing. Mid teens when I headed out and for some reason, my hunting buddies had other commitments. HA! In the woods it was very pleasant. Didn't get cold at all....as long as I kept my gloves on.

Didn't actually dig much, but still managed 2 wheat cents, 16d and 41d, a 1903 IH cent and a few pieces of clad and Memorials. Back in the woods the ground was fine for digging. The 1919 Merc., 2 40's and 50's wheaties and clad came on a couple of weekend hunts before the cold weather hit. Silver is on the horizon tomorrow. HH jim tn

Nice. Thanks for the post. Anytime you are finding old Wheaties and IH's, you have a chance to find some old silver. That would have been a successful hunt in my book. WTG and HH. Bob.

I'm glad to see you got out and represented a little! Looks like you had an enjoyable day.

Jim cabin fever has gotten me as well. I'll be swinging around the trees tomorrow. Good luck!

You have finally discovered the secret, the key to cold weather hunting, the ambition, the nerve, the secret is that it's really no big deal. People ice fish, ski, toboggan, hike, jog, hunt under those conditions, so why not do a little tect'n.:detecting: Nice finds too:thumbup:

I get that same itch, I hit some saltwater beaches for my therapy. looks like a pretty good haul, even if it was summer. Congrats Artie

Nice going, two victories 1) getting out to detect 2) bringing home a few older coins! This being cooped up has me nutz. Was going to hit the beach today but the weather never cooperated. Monday I'll go give it whack, 47 degrees and drier. Probably with my brand "M" beach sweeper fitted with a 15" orange loop
