The importance of moving lawn furniture!

My friend Shannon is selling her 1923 San Diego house and I asked if I could hunt around the tiny yard. I moved the patio table that the realtor placed in the backyard to allow me to hunt most of the yard (this gives you an idea of how small it is!). Found a horse's head (just like in The Godfather), an unknown tag labeled "10X", and a 1919 Lincoln penny. The penny was directly under the patio table. Total yard search time = 20 minutes. Most of the yard has been decked and tool-shedded over (sigh). - Jim

Nice finds in a short amount of time. I have about 2 acres of land surrounding my house but I dont have any faith in hunting it because its not that old. It was first landscaped in 1998 and its real trashy.
The horses head is very cool! Gotta like the unique items, Beale.
I like that horse head also. Seems like Rosco found one like it with enamel on it. It looked old.

I moved an old wooden bench with tall weeds under it on the sidelines of a football field and found a nice, fat sterling ring. Your a smart treasure hunter, always move what you can.

Yeah I moved a big oak platform in front of a concession stand and found about ten bucks under it. No one else had had the brains or energy or strength to move it I guess.
