The hunted-out park

I've been hitting the local park again, this time armed with with my 1400DD on the DFX. It's been pounded hard over the years! I've been continually told by others that it is hunted out, but knowing better and determined to prove them wrong, I always head there after work to try my luck, as it is only a block from my house! It takes hard work, but I always pull some nice things from it every year! It's also a great place to try out new programs and coils because it has been relentlessly searched over and over again throughout the years! That said, and as proof that you never find everything, here are the latest finds from the park! The cross is silver plated and was pulled from a depth of 7", the button is guild-ed and was at 6" both were in the 18-27 VID range but was a broken signal, they did however have a nice high chirp to them, enough so as to peak my interest! It is these signals that I always pull the nicest things! I believe that it is the sole reason that others have most likely over looked them thinking them to be just junk! So seriously consider that signal before you pass it by next time!

My first day out with my new DFX was last Friday at this old school. I was a little disappointed after talking to a custodian there that the area was frequented by a few detectorists over the years. I came home and started to think what if the others overlooked some areas. It is a large campus and quite old. Then I started reading threads like this one and it just gave me more hope. I was out there yesterday just to get more of a feel of the DFX and learn about the graphics and sounds the unit makes. It will be a while but I'm willing to learn and put as much effort I need to be proficient in metal detecting.

I hunt a school that was built in the 50's. It is about a block from the house and if I only have a little time in the evening I go there. I don't expect to find that much as I have taken about 1500 clad coins and 3 silver coins from there. Well last week I found a 46 rosie and a 64 silver quarter. I know I have hunted that corner before. We just aren't that careful. Good luck, Rob
