The Hills are alive with the sound of metal -

I have been slow to warm up to the Vaquero. but I am starting to like it , especially for relic hunting . I took it to bone Hill, or the Hill of many nails where i found the 1879 seated dime , and i swear i had cleaned out this one side of the hill of all nails, but the Vaquero running in threshold AM just lit up I soon had to proceed at a snails pace on my knees, I was really amazed at the size of the cut nails coming out , and kept saying (MAN THIES BIG NAILS COULD HIDE SOMETHING GOOD) so I kept digging looking for masked targets , soon after i removed a few big nails up comes this big brass shoe back, I am like 'HOW DID I MISS THAT , it may have been a barber half dollar, and it proves that good targets can be hiding in the nails, and i have to say the VAQUERO does not miss much , the brass shoe back has a patent date of NOV 20, 18?? as i could not read the last two numbers, also a carriage spring that was broken By the way the cast iron house looks to be a bank it came in two halts and probably had money in it kinda cool , how did I miss that , I think it is true that different detectors, pick out different things.

Nothing can hide from Gunnar when he is swinging his Vaquero. Nice recoveries!

Fantastic finds Gunnar! That does look like a little cast iron bank. Now you have to find the coins that were in that little bank. Those places we sometimes think are "worked out" prove us wrong. Time to fire back up the Vaquero. Try different angles and different size coils and see what else you can pull out. Good luck and keep us posted - Jimmy

Gunnar, those are some neat relics.what are the words on front of bank ?
I would be interested to see it after a little electrolysis. :super:

pulltaber I can't find any words on the bank , but like you say after electrolysis, some will appear .

Cool Finds, Gunnar
Next time take your camera and take us along on the hunt.
HH, Jerry
