Went for an evening spin with Huntress on Tuesday. We began the hunt at a little after 7P, into an 808P 0.1L, but had a nice light north breeze and the tide was out almost over the 2nd bar. Was running the Aquasearch in a clean surf area and hunting for deep whispers in the mine. Ended up with $1.58 in clad. The cross is .925 and has 2 feet on the front at it's intersection. The back says, "It was then that I carried you". I thought to myself on the way to the surf, we were due for a religious medallion and I was thinking Claddah, who knows why? Huntress found a Claddah ring. I am not clairvoiant, by any means and I certainly never imagined that I would ever find a target like this ring! I got a deep whisper, barely audible and definitely out of Excal range. I could not even hardly make it repeat. Dug out a scoop and the tone increased in volume. After a scoop or 2, I set the 11LBer down and began to fan out the hole. I was past my elbow in the surf sand and still fanning frantically. The target was not moving and I was in 1 foot of water, just floating on top and fanning. Kept checking the hole to make sure the target did not get swept away. Finally, I felt Davy's clenched fist tightly wrapped around something he did not want me to have. I unsheathed my cutlass and stabbed old Davy right on top of his hand and it opened wide, unsecuring the fine treasure he did not want to give up! Out comes this gaudy, but very nice treasure. I was amazed and thanked the Lord for it! The ring is 10K and the pics pretty much give the details, but Huntress attempted to count the baggett diamonds and there are over 100. Going soon for an appraisal. Perhaps the Aquasearch has just paid for itself, with 1 find. If you want an Aquasearch, give Mr.Bill a call at Surfscanner detectors, but you better be ready to do some diggin', cuz that unit goes SCARY DEEP! We did try another surf area and I had 1 penny there. We quit around 12A and I was a VERY HAPPY PIRATE on the way home! Teal season begins on saturday, so I guess my hunts will taper off till around the 24th of this month.
