The Group hunt today at an old park the Sovereign GT worked great.

This old Pontiac city park has a lot of potential.Myself and three other hunter's went in search of old silver coins.Once at the park we all went in different areas to search. My strategy use a very slow business like search and try to find wheat's to find the silver trail. After searching for about an hour I had found some clad and a couple of wheat's.Later on another two wheat's and I got a 180 ID on the meter with a nice deep rounded signal.Once the flap was removed I placed the sunray probe in the hole to locate the target nothing, switching back to the coil and a sweep revealed the target was still there.Digging deeper in the hole now the Sunray probe got a signal and after another adjustment I could see the silver edge of the 1914D Barb Dime. Two more wheat pennies and 176 showed on the meter, which I just knew was going to be an Indian Head penny. This target was a complete surprise this coin was half the size of a dime and was silver ,which was a 1880 Canadian 5 cent piece. Finally after another hour of hunting and a couple more wheat pennies and a 1949 nickle I ended my hunt. The other hunter's had a bad day only clad no wheat's.

Wow, what can one say Ron but awesome! I guess you're not selling the GT. Great job and I'm sure you'll be going back there soon.

Well done Ron. Some nice old coins there.

Which coil did you have on the GT?

of weeks ago. I bought it to hunt the old house sites and to try it in the woods for relics. It's a great coil, I can't believe how deep it will go. I also use a 10" slimline, S-12 and a WOT. It's a great detector, especially after David's Mods.

Tony,I agree with you the 8 inch Coinsearch coil works great,This coil is light, great target separation and excellent depth for a eight inch coil.
