The F75's nice box

Now I know a cardboard box does not make a detector, but the new F75 comes shipped with a cool white box with a graphic design tribute to Fisher's 75th anniversary...(see Dr. Fisher's head on the right side?).

First Texas went the extra mile with this.......even this excellent story on the inside flap of how Dr. Fisher patented the first modern metal detector in 1931 in his garage....

Even the 75th anniversary logo features, what? a 1931 Indian head penny? huh? :nerd: This didn't make any sense as they were not made then....
Looking closer I realized they used the 1871 semi-key date Indian I found & photoshopped the date to say 1931....pretty cool :)

I had no idea they had used one of my coins....:beers:

the heritage of Fisher! I was sorta concerned in the beginning what may happen to that history, but I feel better now! Long live Fisher!

Lets hope this F75 lives upto its gossip..

whether they show respect for the Fisher name will be judged by the performance of the F-75. Not because they reflected on Fisher's past success in an effort promote their future. Hopefully First Texas has integrated the technology available to them. And, have learned lessons from the ergonomic shortcomings of the T2. At the end of the day, all we can hope is that the F-75 meets the demands of those who made their purchases based on a few preliminary posts, and their loyalty to Fisher detectors. HH Randy

Inside each corner of the lid,(so when the lid is closed they are hidden from sight) I'd imbed a nickel, a pulltab, a quarter and a small nail . VIOLA! a test bed.

Almost all companies get bought and sold by different companies. The trick is whether or not they maintain the same (or better) qualities that they had before. In the case of Fisher and First Texas, They have some of the most brilliant minds (engineers) in the business injecting innovation and experience into the "new" Fisher products.

Dave Johnson was the mastermind behind most of the products Fisher became known for (especially the CZ line of detectors). He is now at the forefront of the "new" Fisher again. I also read in the listings on the F-75 that Dimitar is still around, so that also includes the C$/ID Edge, Excel, etc. era of Fisher. Now, add to the mix Mr. Gardiner, who is absolutely brilliant in the software design/interface of the F-75 and I think we detectorists are in for an incredible ride when it comes to new and innovative products from the "new" Fisher.

I'm personally very much looking forward to what's to come. We may be seeing the first true innovations in a long time... who knows? One thing is for sure, there's no shortage over at First Texas in the "know-how and experience" departments!
