The F5 found me another treasure today

Got a late start today and thought it was going to be a bust, but then I found this.

The big treasure for today was a Kershaw, Ken Onion, knife. Model 1660CKTST, found in a athletic field section of a park. The knife was opened and down in the grass roots. Roots grown throughout any opening they could get into.

The F5 overloaded on it and when I raised the coil it gave a nice iron fart, but traced out as something different than a nail. By the root growth it looks to have been lost last summer. They must be nice knives as it still looks really good. Only needed minor cleaning. Looked it up on the net and it retails for $55. :hot:

Here is a link to it: http://www.kershaw-knives.net/Kershaw-Ken-Onion-Leek-KS1660CKTST.htm

I like finding the knives. Some of them, like this one, actually have a pretty decent value.

This one is kind of dangerous though, like a modern switchblade.

Nice knife find, Mike. I like finding knives as well. I plucked a real nice Schrade from near the entrance of a school building a while back. I suspect it might have been ditched on one of the day's they had the metal detectors going. HH jim tn

Hey Mike,

That would be great. Detecting and finding a good knife (my other hobby). Good Job.

I found an old rusted knife from the 1800 in a field in my back yard..didn't know what I had till I cleaned it. In San Francisco I found a German Luger that was all rusted. It had to have been in the ground for fifty years. A lot of the guys on the forum told me to turn it in to the cops. So I asked a friend that is a CHP officer and he told me if it were me and the gun is as old as you say and it is a once in a lifetime find. No serial number if you turn it in you will never see it again. So I kept it...

Nice find.Occasionally I find small pocketknives.I pretty much have taken the last year off to geocache but actually took the 3300 out yesterday for forty minutes of cladding.Got a used F5 coming soon.Hoping it will renew the detecting interest again:))
