Norm, Jay, and me have hunted only twice the past 2 days. Jay only once of the 2 times (this morning). All i gotta say is the Excalibur rocks!:super: If we still were using pulse detectors, i doubt we would have done so well since the machines were masking ALOT of iron. :D HH yall!

I got my new Excal 1000 two weeks ago and have been able to hunt some but not as much as I would like. Hunted all day Sunday and only wound up with some clad. Are you hunting salt water? What coast if you are? I live in Navarre Florida, in between Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach. My main question is: what kind of settings are you hunting with? I have been running my sensitivity around 11:00. Not sure if that is right though and my disc is on the 1.

Disc at 1, its in disc mode, not pinpoint. Volume is about 3/4 way up. Sensitivity is around 11 or 12 o'clock. Threshold is just to where i can barely hear it. I keep the coil low to ground, less than 1 inch off it. I try and sweep slow and wide and overlap, but sometimes if i aint had a target in a few minutes my mind starts to wander and i start to loose my pattern lol. But thats what i try to do. Were detecting Va Beach (saltwater) Good luck! HH
