This is a Heavy silver Medieval Merchants seal ring.

Its been lying in the unploughed ground for man hundreds of years and is mint condition.

It will be reportred to PAS to stay with the UK laws but I thought that you would like to see it.

Oh Yes it came out from 14" using forum member Tony Hunts programme.

Great find....I just wish our country and states had the great metal detecting laws that yours does. Its funny how the UK wants to encourage detecting and the preservation of artifacts while the good ol US just wants to legislate detecting into the ground. Great find. Was it public or private land? Please follow up with the appraised value and whether any museums buy it or not.
 
Congrats on that unique find!

I've never heard of one of those before, let alone see one in such great shape.
