Well I was able to get out and play with the new SE again today.. I went up to a ball field I have been hunting for a couple months with the E-trac.. Signals are starting to get pretty hard to find.. I wasn't feeling to well, and I had a lot on my mind.. pretty stressful night last night.. I decided to take off the SEF coil and throw on the Pro just for giggles. It didn't take long to get my first hit.. I was making a pass right down the edge of the fence... same way I go every time I am there.. I got what I would call a great "one way hit" when I circled the target I got nothing but a null, except for that one particular direction,, It was perfect music to my ears.. I pulled open the plug and as soon as I put the probe in she started singing.. I pulled the wheaty out and directly behind and to the right was a couple nails..
Like I said in previous post.. Their is only about 50 to a 100 feet of actual good detecting ground.. the rest of the field is fill dirt.. I have found coins right up next to the fill to about a foot it.. I cant wait for a down pour of rain, I know there are some keepers deep under the fill..
Right up next to the fill line and just a little bit over into it is where I pulled the rest of my coins at tonight.. If you look just right down the field you can see a line where the fill dirt and the clean dirt meet. I walked right down the line swinging half and half.. I kept on squeezing out some deep wheats.. Then I finally got that deep signal that every explorer user loves.. A high fluty jumpy tone.. The cursor kept on bouncing into the ferrous side to up in the right corner of the conductive side.. I circled the target and got the same response from every direction.. When I hit pin point and swept back and forth over the target.. The cursor would do the same.. kind of bounce over in the left hand side, then lock back up in the right.. I opened up the hole and dug down a bit.. When I put the probe in she screamed.. there was no mistaking what was there.. I tried to be careful, I wanted to get very close and try to get a pic of it sticking out the side of the hole.. But as always I got a little to eager and popped it right out. She ended up being a 1920 merc..
I normally dont dig too man nickel signals.. But I will dig ones with a deep warble to them.. Doing so I was able you come out with a couple war nickels.. I spent the rest of the evening fumbling around on the edge of that fill line. I was able to pull a few more wheat's and another merc
And that is how this kid in his 20's likes to spend his friday nights... Digging up old coins... I must be the lamest person out there![Cry LOL :crylol: :crylol:](https://www.findmall.com/styles/smileys/Crylol.gif)
now it's time for bed LOL
Good luck everyone and thanks for looking!
