Miserable sucker was lining up on the chickens. Before we could get the shotgun, the terrorists had already done the job. But, that entailed a 4 hour massive clean up. If there is any good news in this it is that I was over the hill when this happened and Alice got to do the cleaning.

This makes up for the time the skunk got into the coop a couple of years back and killed 38 birds. The dogs got that one too... But since Alice was in the hospital, I got to do the cleaning. :):

However, they chase ravens [that are after the chickens] skunks.... The dogs are smart enough to know the difference between pets [ie, chickens, etc] and predators.

However, if we had a pet guinea pig, say... we wouldn't... they would have taken it almost the moment it came in the door. They are intelligent, yes..... but instinct comes into play at the rodent end of things.
