The Digital Blackhole

Once upon a time in a land far, far away there lived a man who wished to share his finds with others on the Findmall forums. He salivated at the beautiful pictures and soon it became an obsession to be able to do likewise. All he would have to do is have a digital camera. He saved and scrimped and ate PB&J sandwiches at lunch. Now it came to pass that Santa brought this man a Kodak 3600 digital camera and all was well in the kingdom. But as the man went to download the pictures onto his computer (200 mgz Gateway) there were no USB ports. A call to Gateway and two ports appeared in the mail and all was once again well in the kingdom. Now I could look at the pictures. A friend said I need to save them to "C". So I saved them to "C" and now there is no more space on the computer and warnings of impending disaster. So maybe I need a CD burner but I think my computer is too old to meet the requirements. Then someone emails me a MSN site where I could store pictures on the web. This sounds great but I always fear things that look too good to be true. Now do I need to upgrade my computer to get a CD burner or can I use a site like MSN? If I store my photos at MSN what are the problems that I will run into? All I wanted to do is share some photos, but I feel like I'm being sucked into the digital blackhole. Can I be rescued? Will this have a happy ending?

have you tried lowering the quality setting on your camera? Most digitals have a control for this and if you are only interesed in posting online the lower quality will should be fine.
What size harddrive do you have? Most of the newer Gateways were in the gigabyte range.
Hope this help, may others will chime in as I am certainly no authority.
