The Delta-- No more doubts

Merf

New member
I bought a Delta as my backup for my F-70 about a month ago. I have been finding small targets with the 5" DD coil that my F70 missed while rehunting sites. Today I hunted a grassy area at an old home site that I had pounded with my F70 [11" DD coil} at least 5 times.
I was hunting with sensitivity at 10 and discriminating out everything below zinc penny. When I get a high pitch sound , even if only one way, I switch to all metal and check the VID. If the parameters are iffy I dig. Long story short---I dug a very nice 1919 Mercury dime 6 inches deep today in an area that I thought was hunted out. The Delta with the 5" DD is a lot of bang for the buck.

That's fantastic Merf! A great idea to try the Delta with the 5" coil. I just pulled a 1916 Merc from 6 inches in a park yesterday with my Delta. Had the stock 8" on, but really need to get a 5 inch coil due to the amount of trash in that park. Hope you get lot's more silver! MickTwin

You guys have me salivating over here! I am dying to go detecting and will get off the boat Friday. Congratulations on the merc!

Try the Alpha to back up the Delta, it's great too!

I feel the best accessory coil has to be the round 5" DD. It is a killer coil in dense trash. Right now I have mine mounted on the end of my G2, but I might need another so I don't have to switch coils around so often. I used it on the Delta last summer and showed some good friends just what kind of performance can be had from the turn-on-and-go Delta.

Congrats on the Mercury dime find. I hope you pull more good coins in the future.
