Hawkeye Jim

New member
only -21 below zero this moring.............and already -14 below zero as I type this............only bright side to all this winter weather is the frost heaves on some good ole coins..............

THINK SPRING........Hawkeye Jim.

Heck I am in middle NC. Feel like of 14 this AM, and the wind was whipping. Very cold for us, Beale.

Well it was -29 this morning when I took the dog for a walk. Warmer than around 6am -33 or so. I cant wait for spring.

I saw on the news that you had some record lows up there. It's not much warmer down in my part of the state. This morning it was -10 and right now it's already -4 and falling, lol. The way it sounds, you better throw another log on the fire, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Hey Jim, it turns out that I am not going to be up your way this next week, but I should be up that way some time this month. I'll send you a PM when I know when I'll be up that way.

No problem, when it's this cold I don't feel like going anywhere --- looking forward to meeting with you! Jim.

I don't know how you guys cope. It is 19 here in Alabama this morning and I nearly froze my keester on a trip to the woodpile.

Sometimes I wonder about that myself..................we're having a REAL winter this year, lots of snow and now bitterly cold temps..................hope SPRINGS eternal I guess!!!

Hey, I cannot go because I am caregiver for my older parents, but if you can, get in your car-truck-vehicle-RV-camperVan-motorhome and drive south to south Florida, south Texas, south Arizona, or southern California where it is nice and mild-warm all winter long. There is no snow and year-around metal detecting in those places.

According to> http://www.weather.com/?role=

.....the today's (Jan. 3) high for Miami, FL is 64'F-----Brownsville, TX is 65'F-----Yuma, AZ is 73'F-----San Diego, CA is 70'F, not too cold and not too hot, just right. Or should I say perfect temperatures now for metal detecting with a light windbreaker jacket.

New years eve here in Az., the blue moon was so bright that you cast a shadow. About 41 degrees and you could of gone and done some detecting, warmed up to seventy one by ten o'clock Have a great winter and a Happy New year

Thanks for that, yes I see the daytime high is in about in the 70's'F in Arizona, but cooler at night as 41'F at night is not too bad there for you.

Now for Phoenix, Arizona (AZ) the temperatures for today (Jan. 4) is the daytime high at 75'F and the night time low is 46'F.

Yes, must be perfect nice warm weather for detecting and for taking a nice warm drive with the car-truck, having a barbeque outside with friends, and also sitting outside either in a lawn chair in the warm sun reading a magazine, or take the laptop computer outside!
