The day started out bad

but it got better. I went to hunt a playground, sports field that I have never hunted before. I started getting trash signals and noticed that a plug had been cut at all of them and who ever had dug the trash had put the trash back in the hole.:ranting: I started looking around and saw that there were alot of plugs that had been dug and I could see the dead and dying grass.I am not fan of cutting plugs because of the damage they can cause, so I decided to leave the area before I was accused by someone of doing the damage......Well I ended up in a park that I have hunted many times before. I found a little clad, along with an indian charm with what appears to be turquoise and a gold hoop earring. I was about to leave when I got a solid 12 VDI reading. I dug down about 2 or 3 inches and out popped this nice 10K gold ring with 20 diamonds. Well it made up for a poor start I had this morning. Which coil was I using? The 6" DD Excelerator. Looks like some good gold Dennis, great finds is the Indian charm gold to? VERY VERY GOOD.:clapping:

Your day ended up to be a pretty darn good one. VERY nice ring and the Indian charm is nice also. Gold is gold no matter what, but when there's diamonds attached.....It's an eye opener. :yikes: Hope their love didn't go sour.

We've come across nasty holes in the ground also and that's where I blame the guys that buy a detector from your local super-center and start digging anything and everything that makes it beep before doing any homework on detecting. We've even seen where they leave their trash there. One time they left a lead battleship that Larry came across in a hole and come to find out, it was very old and he took 1st. place in Misc. Finds in our club for the year. It's a shame what people do and if we can't get the word out, soon all the parks, etc. will be closed to metal detecting.

Anyway......great finds Dennis. It was rainy and cold today, so maybe we'll be able to get out some tomorrow. HH to all, Nancy

I was sure my wife would just love the ring, but when I showed it to her she said " It not the kind of ring I would have bought". In defense of the ring I said" well this one is free". I just can't figure women out even at my age. I just imagined her jumping up and down with excitement like I did when I found it. Oh well, maybe the next ring I find will excite her. Really nice finds Dennis. I haven't had a gold day in many months now. I hunted a soccer field where there was no attempt to hide where he had been digging. The person didn't cut a plug or flap the hole where just excavated. There wasn't any grass left to go brown. As I passed my coil over one of the holes I got a strong signal and found a can still in the hole. It won't take much of this to bring the local officials down on detecting in the area. Rob

amazing isn't it seems like yesterday you were telling me you had some cabin fever. What a way to get the spring/summer going!

If she doesn't like the ring, why don't you have her design something and use the gold and diamonds from your finds. (bracelet, pendant, charm, brooch, earrings and so on) I plan on making a memory bracelet with all my old gold and stones. I know what I want, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I don't know what the indian charm is made of. I know its not silver nor gold. It is a cool find though. HH Dennis in Idaho
Looks like some good gold Dennis, great finds is the Indian charm gold to? VERY VERY GOOD.:clapping:
