The Day has finally arrived

Gonehunting

Well the new Etrac arrived at 530pm and I put it together. Ran out with my headlamp. And found 8 memorials in my front yard that the Xterra said was junk... I know that don't sound like much but I knew, by what the machine was tellin me, exactly what and where they where... And I have only read forums and watched youtube vids.. Dang this machine is the Bomb. Thanks Minelab. I have read threads where guys were not finding anything with their new Etrac... All I can say is..... it has to be the operator... This thing coupled with the Sunray probe is gonna be hard to beat.. if it even can...
?I wanna take the time to thank Lynn and Kristi at Detector Depot for a top rate sale and service.
Now if the sun would just come up,, I can't wait to go to a good spot...

Congrats on the Etrac purchase.-----With that "COMING SOON" equip. you've got listed, you are really going to be set up well. --------Del

Nice Finds!! Congratulations! I know what you mean, I got mine in last week and can't wait to get back out again. First find was a clad Quarter the 2 dimes and 2 memorials, then I know if I'd had more time I'd found lots more from this hunted out site.

seems like forever but I finally get to change that....

Looks like you're off to a great start with your new "mantoy" haha! I know what you mean by finding things the "others" missed... I hunted the crap out of my front yard w/ my first machine Whites Classic III, and later with a ML Sovereign XS-2..... found LOTS of goodies and signals were getting fewer by the day... finally got the Etrac after having the sov about 2 months... I found a crazy amount of stuff just in the first day of turning it on in my "hunted out" yard...

You're in for a treat! Enjoy & HH

Mine came in today as well!! Switching from the Explorer II... hadn't had a chance to get out with it...but just in the small amount of testing I did i can already tell that i'm going to love this thing!!

My first "official" coin finds were memorials too! Congratulations on the finds and thanks for the pictures.

Congrats on the finds, right out of the box. I had to  at your comment "I have read threads where guys were not finding anything with their new Etrac... All I can say is..... it has to be the operator... " .

As an E-TRAC and an X-TERRA owner, (as well as several other makes and models) I'd say that statement holds true for just about any detector out there. Most of them (including the X-TERRA) don't tell you what is junk and what is not junk. The user makes that determination based on the TID and tones. Granted, having both ferrous and non-ferrous readings on the E-TRAC gives more info. But if the conductive number on the E-TRAC told you to dig them, the conductive number on the X-TERRA should have. I understand Randy. I have researched the Etrac for over a year and have watched a lot of Nebtrac's vids as well as others. I have studied the CO/FE numbers as they corresponded to different targets. So I was sure there were memorials I was hearing. What I didn't show was the six+ nails that were also in the 4 foot area that these come from, three of the pennies had the nails so close they had rust on them. I also had the Xterra70 and scanned the area. I got very questionable Id's and wouldn't have normally dug, because it sounded like rusty nails with "halos". I have put hundreds and hundreds of hours with my Xterra and know when I hear certain things. But this Etrac had separation with every penny and the nulling of the nails. Sorry I still think this machine is so much easier than people are making out to be. Now a week from now I may change my statement, but I really think this Is The Machine...

Congrats on getting the best machine out there. I have had mine for just shy of 2 weeks and have already found over half as much clad as I had found in about 4 months with my Bounty Hunter 3300. Not to mention my first ring!

And I agree with you 100% on the Etrac. It may not tell you exactly what is in the ground but compared to most other machines it gives you so much information it is hard not to know with an almost certainty what you are about to dig. I had gotten pretty decent with my BH and would say that I could ID most coins within a 60% or so success before digging. So far with the Etrac I would say that has been raised to 90% or better. And I still have a TON to learn.

The Etrac is probably about as easy a machine to use right out of the box in the default coin mode and can find a lot of targets. I am learning though that it can also become a very complicated machine once you get to playing with the settings. I am still using the default coin mode but when not swinging I have been playing with the settings...it can get pretty daunting to say the least lol.

Anyways congrats again and get out there and dig some treasure!

Congratulations on the new machine . You are gonna love it ! :detecting:

I agree that the E-TRAC is easy to operate, once the user understands what each setting does and how to tweak it for their area. Knowledge is the key with any detector. I also happen to believe the slower sweep speed of the E-TRAC is the primary reason for better target separation, compared to the X-TERRA or most other makes and models. The addition of Sizing Pinpoint on the 705 did improve target separation on the X-TERRA lineup because it allows you to slow down your sweep while X-ing over targets, while maintaining an accurate TID. Add that to the 6-inch DD coil, multiple tone mode and minimal discrimination, and I am amazed at how well it separates targets. But again, the slower sweep speed of the E-TRAC, combined with the 6-inch EQ2 coil, is a more lethal combination for target separation than even my 705 with the 6-inch DD at 18.75 kHz.
