The CZ7A Worked Great at the Competition Hunt.

I heard a lot of stories about the CZs having problems with cross talk didn't have that problem today. Ron

within probably 10-15' or so. Now, I have used the CZ5 & the CZ70 for comp hunts and never had a problem with it. But when I used the Tesoro Cortes, there was quite a bit of interference especially with Shadows.

I used the Cibola on the first hunt and even though the sensitivity was in boost I just didn't think it had the horsepower of the CZ. The Tesoro didn't seem to have any problems working close to other detectors. In one hunt I lined up at the start next to four other Fisher user's,and made a joke maybe we are in the wrong spot too many Fisher's.One Fisher user said the minelab's were the biggest problem, which you didn't notice interferance it just disabled yuor detector.Gordy from Windsor Canada who used a MXT couldn't believe how deep the silver dimes were planted most around 5 inches plus. I had 18 silver dimes, 1 fifty piece and 1 nickle in the last hunt so the CZ was working.I was also told by a couple of hunter's the 1236x still rules in these hunts.I found my gold token after two targets, the Clubs asked the hunters to stand down after they found one tokens so other hunter's would have better odds. The first photo unknown hunters.Second photo white shirt Gordy from Canada, which he did very well with his MXT. HH Ron

I do know ome CZ will drive another bonkers and to me would be like using a high caliber rifle for squirrels...but whatever works...
I can understand your problems with Tesoro's and the like as they are fast, pinpoint quick and used by many at competition hunts and units with close frequencies do crosstalk..In any case you did well and congragulations...

Dan,I thought it would be overkill with the CZ also, but Gordy said he was digging dimes down 6-7 inches with his MXT.Other hunter's were surprised at the depth of the dimes and tokens.(dimes painted&stamped).Michigan Treasure Hunter's club put on a great hunt. HH Ron

Has been considered one of the best competition units around for years...Loks like your CZ was smoking so no need to change...Usually 2-3 inch targets are prevalent, but the CZ would excell with 5 inch dimes...

Thanks Dan ,Like Joe my question.Would the 1236 work well enough for the five inch dimes in a hunt? Ron

Never used a 1236X but would easily detect 5 inch dimes, have not participated in planted hunts in years, but the proficient guys all used the 1235X as it was fast and pinpointed well...really not familiar with differences in the 1236X...

Didn't even notice you taking pics on the hunt field. Really enjoyed the hunt and enjoyed meeting and talking with you.
My hunt totals included 3 Ike clad dollars, 5 Sacagawea's, 1 Susan B, 5 clad halfs, 5 clad quarters and 21 clad nickels. Add 47 silver dimes and the gold ring from the DAF hunt and the 20th century quarter set.
The sound of the dragsters doing their runs at Milan Dragway still resounds in my ears (even with the headphones on).
Hope we get a chance to meet in the future to do a little digging.

Gordy, the hunt was a lot of fun, very good company, and thanks for the pointers.I was impressed with your find's and skill with the MXT.By the way I put the Cibola on the auction block yesterday and it sold last night. The Tesoro was sold to some hunter in France. I bought a Fisher 1236x today from the big mail order giant. After listening to the stories about your finds I need to start water hunting next season. Ha by the way the Kodak camera does get good pictures. The dimes were deeeeep. Thanks Ron
