The CURSE of 1965

I seem to have the Curse of 1965... I was born in the Summer of 1965...One of my goals is to find a Barbur Quarter or a Seated, but I always find 1965 Quarters...Well today, I found a 1965 Quarter and a 1965 Dime...I sort of saved myself with the 1940 Wheat and the 1964 nickle...I think the manganese makes em turn red??? a LOT of these coins were at 6+ inches with the Wheat being at 8 inches...It was muddy digging in a few spots...

HH,

I've found the easy way to eliminate the "red" on nickels is to soak them in of all things, Worcestershire sauce.

GGG,

I believe this curse must be contagious. Just 2 days ago, I went out and found (2) 1965 quarters and (1) 1965 dime - both deep digs. I believe a little VooDoo is in order to try and combat the spell. Maybe - I'll call up a few friends of mine in the New Orleans area and see what they can do. CCH

I seem to remember reading that they minted an exceptionally large run of 1965 clad coins after discontinuing silver coinage. I've also noticed the seemingly unusual # of times coins end up being one d#*@ year short and I think that's the reason...could be wrong.
