Well I have taken a chance to add a Cortes to my tool box. I hope I didn't go wrong, If you have any pointers that would be great. I figure this is going to be a real adjustment from the BH and Discovery. Cool I am ready

After you have used that for a while give me a run down..I have been thinking of buying one......

OJB, Congrats on the Cortes! Supposed to be a good detector so I bet you have good hunting with it. The closest I've come to the Cortes is a friends DeLeon. Good luck and keep the forum posted on your finds... HH TonyTX :clapping: :tesoro:

Congrats on the Cortes. I used the stock and 5.75 coils on the Cortes. It is an interesting machine.
There should be lots of information that should keep you entertained for awhile on previous posts.
Looks kool too - HH

OJB, Hope you love the Cortes as much as I love mine. Gives a lot of info about the target and it's so dam easy to use, love the knobs and switches. When searching in All Metal mode and the bar is IRON with an ID # 00, then it's iron of some kind, maybe natural iron in the ground. Ladies gold rings ID No's. can range from about 15 to about 38, from my air tests using 8 rings. I'm able to get a decent signal (sensitivty 8 ) from those rings with a max. Discr. setting at FOIL, but the depth drops to 4.5", way down from 7" when Discr. is set just below IRON. Have only the stock coil. HH

nice thing about the cortes it will show you the information even in the all metal mode. so you can hunt with no discrimination but still have it kind of, meaning the display still working. the TR would not do that either.
