The Continuing Saga of Sparkster and L.J.

This is a continuing story of two old metal detecting dudes. Sparkster (66) and his hunting buddy L.J. (80).

Sparkster had to go to the doctor for a conference about his up coming rotator cuff surgery this morning. L.J. struck out
on his own and had a great morning hunt. He found a ladies 14K wedding band of white and yellow gold in a school playground.
In addition he racked up 12 quarters, an SBA dollar and a few dimes. Strange but true the 14K wedding band rang up a strange 22 VDI
on the Whites MXT and a broken up 53 on my AT Pro. I have never seen a 22 VDI 14K ring.

This evening after it cooled down to 97 the Sparkster and L.J. hit the school again. It was locked up tighter than a tick so we decided to
detect the grass lawn in front of the school. It is an area about 75 yards long by 50 yards wide. Right out of the box not 10 feet into the
hunt the Sparkster got a 94 VDI on the AT Pro. After a 4" plug was dug out popped 4 quarters stacked one on top of the other. About 30 feet
later the Pro gave Sparkster a sweet high tone and a VDI of 85. Wow Ring A Ding Ding Ding. 9.25 sterling girls ring missing a stone. Who cares
it still counts as a ring. About 10 minutes later another ring. This time it was a junker ring stamped India on the inside of the band. As the evening went on the temperature cooled down from 97 to about 79. It was a great evening for detecting. Sparkster and L.J. hunted until about 8:15pm. Kind of late for a couple of old dudes to be out. At the end of the day L.J. found an arm load of brass sprinkler heads and $3.90 in clad. The Sparkster scored 2 rings, 29 quarters, 14
dimes, 4 nickles, 14 penny's, 2 tokens and a Oregon key chain. Grand total $8.69 in clad. A good time was had by all

It is always much more fun to hunt with a buddy, much safer also when you are out after dark.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU DETECTORISTS AND HAPPY HUNTING.

If you can get some photos of the ring, tokens and any old coins you get on the forum, I can try & get them posted on the month end summary for August. :)
