General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

The Consequences of Over-Reacting

A while back, someone complained about Makro failing to repair/replace their damaged coil. Not only did they post their complaint on this forum, but on several other forums as well. Makro subsequently resolved the guy's coil problem but, unfortunately, these complaint posts still appear on several major forums creating an on-going bad press situation for Makro.

If you get angry with a vendor, please don't post your displeasure all over the Internet. Makro made good and resolved the original complaint, but they continue to suffer bad press because someone over-reacted.
 
I didnt over react .. Makro said in an email after they looked over the pics i sent them that the breakage was my fault... The coil was maybe 3-4 weeks old and the ear fell off in my hand when i removed coil... So i did post on several forums about them deciding to not warrant the 5.5x10 coil... Others on this forum also had the same coil break.. Everyone knows they did have a bad batch of plastic which made the coil ears brittle on the 11x7 coils which they are replacing... They did finally agree to replace all coils, but not until after i posted the email they sent me saying i need to buy another.. So if i wouldnt have posted these then several of us may not have been able to have our defective coils replaced. You bringing this up again in my opinion is worse than my original complaint.. Makro dropped the ball and now they are replacing all coils ... Have a nice day
 
Also,if people read through the thread they will see the happy ending where makro did take care of it.. I actually think it makes them look better due to the fact that they showed integrity as a company and made a great situation out of a possible bad one.most companies dont respond like that in a public forum.. I am impressed as a customer of the end results.. I will stay a customer and will be happy to buy more products from them... So with that said anyone reading that thread will see how good the company responds and how quickly they took care of this..
 
Did readers on the other forums you posted your complaint on get to see the "happy ending" they got to read about on this forum? If not, and they haven't read your posts on this forum, then they're probably still viewing Makro in a negative light.
 
I for one don't shun a vendor on the word of one person. There will always be one who has a gripe and post it before all the facts are in. As for Makro deciding to replace all coils, I don't think it was because of that one post... Get over yourself. I think they had the wheels in motion long before and decided to start the replacement at that time.
 
If the readers did not see the happy ending then i cant help them.. how am i supposed to make them read it??

Well dave i never asked anyone to shun any vendor..IF makro was already going to replace these 5.5x10 coils then why do you suppose they send an email saying they wasn't?? Did you even read the thread? Doubt it.. just wanna jump in and run your little mouth without knowing much of anything. ;) oh i see youve been a member a whole 7 months.. lmao ok buddy..
 
By adding your "happy ending" post to the other forums as well OR by asking the moderators of the other affected forums to remove your post.

I did.. in the other forums i said how makro took care of this.. you didnt see it? Look i only posted that response makro gave me over broken coil ears because i thought others should know that even though their 11x7 coils are covered under warranty, that doesnt mean that the other coils they were selling was going to be covered for broken ears.. berryman why are you attacking me over this? Its done and over with.. so tell me if your new coil broke and you knew it wasnt your fault, and others are having same issues, you contact the manufacturer and they say tough, buy another.. and your saying youd be happy about it?? Well ok, but im not you and i did things differently. Does that make me a bad person?
 
The bad part was the dealer was already taking care of it when the posts were made.

I just want that "Makro refuses to warranty the broke ears on my coil" post to disappear from all the forums. Seems like I see I whenever I visit one of the forums and it bothers me that casual visitors to those forums (who don't know the complete story) are getting the wrong idea about Makro.

That is not true.. i did what i was told to do,email makro..once they responded with the no they wasnt going to replace my coil then i posted what their response was..after several posts were made i called dealer.. he said he will warranty the coil and will try to get makro to cover it. I said you should not be responsible for the price of a coil in case they wont cover it.. bottom line..makro should have warranted the coil from the start just like Dilek stated.. look on every forum and someone has posted something about a coil,detector,company or person they dont like.. this subject is resolved im really not sure why it needs to be relived.. if you dont like my posts dont read them.. you obviously get too upset over it..

If they dont know the whole story then maybe they need to read the whole thread.. every forum has threads that is a gripe about something.. they all go away over time..
 
this subject was overwith a week or more ago.. why must you john, berryman, jack and dave all bring it back up but complain that its not going away? Makes absolutely no sense at all. Lol by the way i didnt start this thread, but i guess some guys on here were not done with it... maybe you should let it go john. And yes your starting to sound like some co's i know.
