The Coin$trike and all metal question

I realize this is more for the Coin$strike classroom but thought I'd ask it here too since many of you might not look into the Coin$strike classroom.

My question is this:

Since one can detect in all metal with the Coin$trike and it shows all the VDI numbers in that mode, why does one need to switch back to disc to check the signals?

so it will only give you a really good guess what's in the ground. Now, I have been running all-metal more and more and I will flip back to descriminate to verify a signal and let the notching take over along with the tones if I'm feeling a little lazy and not wanting to dig that much.

But I swich back and forth mainly to verify a signal especially if the numbers bounce. A good target usually won't bounce that much and will be more stable, but then there is the exception.

On my one detector it has a cursor that, when a very deep coin is hit, will bounce from where the coin should be all the way across the screen then back to the area where the coin should show on the screen. The C$ is just doing numerically what my other computer is doing by cursor.

I guess the next question should be about co-located items such as an iron nail with a silver dime. I suppose the C$ will average the dime down and the nail up?

although you do gain a little more depth with them, the added weight isn't worth it to me. But now, If I did a lot of relic hunting then I would probably use a 10.5" coil more then the other two.

Heck, I've only have the 5.75 coil off of the C$ once since I got the small coil. The weight is great, trash seperation is great and it's awsome around play ground equipment, fences, under sporting field bleachers and such. I'm getting about 6" of depth with the small coil.
