The Chicken Specimen

I was recently invited to go along on a gold detecting adventure with Gerry McMullen, or "Gerry's Detectors of Idaho" He put on a great trip with a wonderful group of guys, that are previous customers and friends.
Our adventure took place in the pine trees of Oregon. The weather was pretty wet and rainy but we still had a great time.
To my knowledge Gerry has trained everyone who went along on this trip how to properly use their gold detectors.
He has decades of detecting experience, and is one of the few dealers who offers free field training with the purchase of a detector. If you are in the market for a gold machine, I strongly recommend his services. The best gold machine in the world is not worth a damn, unless you know how to properly use it.
Thanks again Gerry for a great time, and for those damn tasty rib-eye's.:beers:

Here is a photo Gerry took of one of the nuggets I found that looks to me like a chicken sitting on her nest of eggs.
Best of luck to you in your next prospecting adventure.

That's one adventure/trip I would like to make=don't know if i ever will, but sure would be great, and Gerry does have one FINE reputation, Tnx for the pic.:detecting:

Gus, that is unbelieveable! Not so much that it's a nice nugget, but it is almost an exact duplicate of one I found a few years ago. Yours has a little more quartz. Mine comes at just under 3/4 oz. and I too named it the "Chicken Nugget". This was found in a tailings pile in the lower Mother Lode of California about 8 inches deep. Isn't Mother Nature amazing?

Gus, Even though the weather sucked most of the time and we did not find much, the nuggets we did find were good ones.
For a 1st specimen you have ever found, that sure is a beauty.
Glad you enjoyed the trip.

Gerry

That is a sweet piece Digger Bob! I am really glad we had a chance to meet in person.
That's pretty neat we each have matching chicken nuggets now.
I wish you the very best this prospecting season.

P.S Thank you everyone for your kind comments on this thread.
