The characters on my Cortes meter breaks up when

the temperature drops below 45 degrees F. Happens when I'm pinpointing, when the display keeps changing. Can't read it because only half of each character is showing. When I'm swinging the coil the display is stable, all the characters are readable. Seems like the meter can't re-act fast enough in colder weather. Any other Cortes owners have this problem? Have new batteries in it. Owners manual say operating temperature is 30 to 100 degrees.

Do you believe everything you read..LOL...........Just proves the detectors are smarter than us..They don't detect in the freezing cold HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I also had a problem with mine, but the temp. was in the thirtys.
I have not had a problem when temp. was in the fortys.

If those displays are liquid crystal they will freeze at low temperatures.
