The C$ was HOT today! :hot:

I have permission to hunt an old house and last time there I got a couple buffalos, a couple IH's and a silver ring. I went back to finish it up this morning and they were having a YARD SALE!:veryangry: Plan "B" didn't work out either, so I went to plan "C" - Park Pirate:blush: Well, Plan "C" worked out pretty well. I came home with another pocket full of "Pulltabs" I managed 3.5 rings, a decent ladies watch and the gold bracelet. The bracelet is 18.7grams of 24K gold!:yo: This is the kind of day you expect in the water, not a park! But I ain't complaining!:D

Tony,

I have been water hunting for 5 years and never gotten a bracelet like that one! 24K no less WoW!

I bet you're glad they had that yard sale going.

Big Congrats!

Tom

I'm here combing crowded beaches, being called "Treasure Boy!" by some teenage girls and I have not got 1 piece of jewelery yet! All my pull tab signals really are pull tabs :nopity:
Guess I just gutta keep diggin'....... :goodnight:
That's bracelet is really nice :surprised:

WTG Tony - darn nice gold bracelet - what type of set-up was you using in the park?

HH - Hawkeye Jim.

ABSOLUTLEY FANTASTIC!! It looks like you've "HIT THE MOTHER LODE"!! 24kt. Gold Bracelet, I've yet to get any bracelet, yet alone 24kt. WTG! HH

If I remember correctly, I was using the "625" set up. Nothing notched out. (I never do) most of them rang up anywhere from 9-16. I always go looking for pull tabs. Some people may think I'm crazy, but I have found at least one ring the last 6 times I have hunted. It also doesn't hurt to be LUCKY! The silver ring up top rang up as a "35". I knew that one was a silver ring before it came out of the ground;) Welcome to the forum! We are looking forward to some good posts.

Thats very interesting - I have been using 710 and seems to work pretty well in most situations, unless there is too much trash - sometimes I wonder if I'm running too hot. Most of the time I am notching out foil - the last couple of times out I did not notch out foil and the C$ seemed more erractic at the 710. I would welcome any suggestions on the best settings to use. HH - Hawkeye Jim.

One I often use myself here in New England where we have alotta mineralization so that's about as "hot" as I can go. 810 is about the max, but there I have some chatter to deal with. As you mentioned 710 is slightly "hot", but if that's what you've been using & become accustomed to great
How I usually handle it is let the site dictate your setting. Like begin hunting on 710. Then if you hear some chatter, from iron, minerals, hot rocks, powerlines etc., then I'll simply drop the threshold down some (say 20 maybe). I, like most, probably prefer a more "silent search". Especially if your hunting all day chatter will get to ya after awhile (especially w. volume on 10 & using Killer B phones) :yikes: But, I used a 1266x for years & grew to tolerate all kinds a "pops & clicks". So, to me running the C$ "hot" is no bother at all & seems quiet in comparison. I promote the 525 setting only because I wish the preset was 525 & do use it alot in trashy areas. HH, Bill

Thanks much for the info Bill - am always interested in learning new methods and settings to help locate more finds - my previous Fisher was also a 1266X and I never really cared for the "rice krispies" effect - in that respect, I really like the C$ and the way it performs. Thanks & HH - Hawkeye Jim.

GREAT POST, Bill!! I don't have a COINSTRIKE, but I'm going to make a copy of this post for my reference Library, just in case. Many thanks, hh,
