Yesterday i hunted a site where i have found some relics. My first signal was this piece of brass. Initially i thought it was a broken clip-corner buckle. I searched the immediate area for the other half and found it a few feet away. The smaller piece has raised , embossed lettering on it in reverse. This must be some sort of engraving plate, i guess. The lettering says :

GIN MACHINERY
ENGINE BOILERS
SAW MILL AND WOOD-WORKING MACHINERY
WRITE FOR PRICES
GIBBES MACHINERY COMPANY
COLUMBIA SC

Anyway, not the buckle I had hoped for but an interesting find nonetheless. I did find 2 CW bullets and a lead token.
