The boys are in Alaska

Ray left for Ak. a couple of weeks ago.(see my videos of his prep and departure) Gary and Mike just arrived in Tok and have made arrangements to hook up with Ray. I guess Ray did not do as well at Chicken as he had hoped but now has made arrangements to work a private claim about 20 miles away and is getting much better gold with just his highbanker. Now that the boys have arrived, they can break out a couple of dredges and really get to work. They have promised to send me lots of pics which I will share.

I met Ray and the crew in the 40 Mile area while I was up there detecting. I did not see them after the 4th and am in town myself now resupplying. I am headed back up Saturday.

There is basically no dredging to be had in the 40 Mile country right now unless you have claims. Myers Fork at Chicken has dried up due to lack of rain. The claim owner Ray was working with could not allow him to dredge. They should have no problem getting wet at Crow Creek though. I hope they do well.

What gloves do you prefer to use while out digging/dredging? Cheap, $1.50 gloves and many pairs, or something more expensive, like Kevlar, or?
Thanks.

At Walmart in Anchorage. Small world! They were not having any luck at Crow Creek either, probably heading towards the Hope area next. Getting a good tour and the weather is good though.
