the book of Jeremiah

jer:10/2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. jer:10/3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. jer: 10/4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. jer: 10/5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. ..KJV

i like Matthew 6/1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 6/2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Matthew 6/3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: Matthew 6/4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6/5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. Matthew 6/6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6/7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Matthew 6:33 "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you..."
Matthew 6/31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed. Matthew 6/32 For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. Matthew 6/33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6/34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
