The birth of Jesus Christ, a poem by Brian

Brian's homebound teacher gave him an assignment to write a poem about Christmas. As far as I know he's never written a poem and I knew it would be quite a challenge for him, especially using words that would ryhme. I have to chuckle every time I read it. Carol shared it with some women at work and one of them wrote a nice note to Brian and is going to read it in her Sunday school class.

And here it is...

The birth of JESUS CHRIST

Mary fell asleep on the front lawn
When someone came to her quiet as a fawn
The woman said you are with child name him Jesus
When she awoke she saw her friend Beamus
She told no one not even her friends or family
When Joseph found out he was angry
He sat there and wondered who could it be?
Because it was not me
At night Joseph was asleep
When an angel appeared at his feet
She told him he was God

well done to in blessing others. Your poem also is a witness of your faith - Well done! God bless Brian.
(Keep a copy for yourself...years from now you will wish you still had a copy).

I once wrote a poem (when I was a teen in high school) and it was published in our newspaper. I never saved a copy for myself. So keep a copy of your poem so you can share it with others even years from now.
