The biggest obstacle for the F-75 will be

Human Nature. Man has been described by the philosophers as both eternally dissatisfied, and proverbially optimistic. We are all dissatisfied with our current detectors, and the new great unknown MUST be better-without us knowing anything really intrinsic about the F-75. Its hardest task will be to meet some very big expectations, some of which are so high that you could take the best detector from 10 years in the future, and it couldn't meet the burden of proof. "But it doesn't have....for the price you would think...if it only....." Add to this a group of people who believe its just a slightly modified T-2, and...?
Bottom line is that it can be a really exceptional detector, and many people will still be disappointed.

assume everyone is dissatisfied with their current machine ? I couldn't be happier than with my 1266 XB. I am finding more per year this year than all my 26 years before - how could another machine find more for me than what I am getting ? I know the manufacturers dont want to read this but people need to learn their current machine before jumping to the next one, steve in so az

Bingo............By some standards im like the New Kids On The Block... I love my XLT and have NO desire to switch to anything else for whatever reason...i only need ONE machine not a whole arsenal...I make do...

I get a rush out of finding clad or anything else...i am assuming some are bored with finding the ever present penny or dime or quarters...not meeee...when i find an Indian head penny i keep thinking: WOW THIS PENNY HAS BEEN WAITING (patiently) FOR ME FOR hmmmm 90+YRS???

Great Hobby and i hope not to see the day where i take it for granted.

I think most guys like to piddle, me included. I tell my wife when ever I buy or trade a detector for another that the actual act of metal detecting is only a part of the hobby for me. The other parts of the hobby are:

1. Trying new detectors, hoping, wishing & praying for one of those magical wands that will find those elusive targets and if it has the ability to dig the target as well as find it, I wouldn't complain.

2. Checking out all the metal detecting forums to see whose finding what and where. Also seeing whose pissin off who while eating my bag of pop corn while sippin on a cool one.

3. Hosting metal detecting related contests, which I don't benefit from, because it actually cost me money for some of the prizes + shipping costs, but it's something that keeps me from gettin bored.

Now, my wife only hunts with her CZ5 and consistantly whips me like a red headed step child while I hunt with about every machine known to man. So I agree, if you use a machine long enough and realllllly learn it, no matter if it's one of those $100.00 detectors from Walmart, you will out perform guys with those $1200.00 machine on any given day.

It's never the detector, it's always the person using it!
