The big storm

[attachment 36002 Treasure_150WebBigWiz.jpg]I have read alot of talk about the beaches of floida and what they think is under the sand on the local beaches. They say, that if a very big storm was to hit florida and the winds where traveling at the right angle, that it would expose many years of pirated treasure that washed ashore long ago. What do you think about this? And has anyone ever gone down to florida after a big storm to see for yourself if this was true? God Bless

While I am no beach/storms hunter I would think over the last 20-30 years they must have had all kinds of storms that uncovered stuff - - and lots of detectorists there to dig it.
However, that's what keeps me going in a smaller way = the next signal might be gold !!! Steve in so az

true that is! I have not done it yet, but know people who have and do! :)

on the beach. I do recall Hurricane Camille in 1969 tearing up Biloxi, Mississippi. When I rode through there - the beaches were clean. All the buildings on the beaches disapeared. The beach was clean. I am sure that there was lots of things thrown back out to sea that will eventually come to shore especially after rough seas have churned up the bottom and uncovered some of the weatlh and pushed it onto shore and closer to shore.
Personally, don't figure I'll be going back to Florida of the Gulf coast again in this life but the treasures are still there for those who are at the right place at the right time.

1984 with Roy Volker when he was searching and blowing sand from the ocean bottom near FT. Pierce and that is where the gold is found but I didn't find anything myself. Had to leave early as my mom passed away on July 24 while I was in FL and had to go back to my brother's in Hollywood and he, my nephew and I took a flight back from FT. Lauderdale for her funeral. The sad occassion ended my visiting and detecting in FL.

But the East Coast is where a fleet of ships went down in a big hurricane and there is gold, jewels and relics to be found on and near those shipwrecks! But I think you cannot get on them or hunt off shore without special permits....but the beaches I think you can! Not sure, but those who have been down there lately probably can let you know more about the beaches and etc! Good luck in your detecting!! :)

God Bless!
