Very nice...I have a 1923 I found...Only one so far...They sure make your day I tell ya...

Big congratulations on a tough coin to lose (yet find!). Silver dollars are one of those coins that you just have to walk over the top of it to find 'em. May you walk over the top of many more! In 37 years of detecting, I have been fortunate to have found seven individual coins. (What's that....one every 5 plus years?) Special find indeed! Congrats!

So what you're telling me nw1886 is that I can figure about 5 years till I find a silver dollar ? I better get started...!

Very nice! I have been at detecting for about 20 years and have only found one. Lots of halves but only one silver dollar.

Yeah but hunting time is different than regular time. Kind of like the reverse of "dog years". 5 years should equal about oh say....couple of months? Just wish I didn't have to sleep away so much perfectly good hunting time.. JMHO

Exactly. (I know a guy that has a silver dollar spot and my stats look like cold toast to him!) Wish I could say skill was a big factor, but with big coins like that, it was mostly due to amount of ground covered and perimeter searching. One aspect of White's equipment is it being engineered with speed and stability towards the forefront. That's deserving of some credit too.

And Scott.....you go boy!!! That is how it's done!

You would wonder how anyone could lose such a big coin... I have a 1923 one in beaut condition along with a few other American Silvers..
