the best PINPOINTERS?

I have the Garrett Pro Pinpointer.. I really like it. Very well made and does a great job, Beale.

I also have the Garrett Pro Pointer and really like it over several others i have tried. The Whites is not as sensitive as the Pro Pointer. The Bounty Hunter is very flimsy. The Garrett is well made and very durable. Not familiar with the Sun Ray.

I've used both the White's bullseye II and my most recent buy, the Garrett ProPointer. I wore out the White's in five months. The Garrett is more sensitive, and I've gotten up to an in inch and a half to two inches through the dirt with the Garrett. Even at that depth the signal is little more than a faint ticking/beep. Although it doesn't have the capability to turn off the beeper, you can cover the speaker with your thumb. I remember someone posting about how they had taken a cut piece of bicycle tubing and sliding it over the speaker slots to cut down the beeping, and to keep dust/moisture out of the speaker. Yet others have wrapped tape around the unit to cover the speaker. As for me, unless I hear about a better hand held pointer, I won' t be buying anything else but the ProPointer by Garrett.

I like my propointer. I also really liked the Sun-Ray when I had an MXT.

Unless you're including the in-line probes, in which case SunRay has that market.

awesome thank you,its gonna be the garret or the detector probe but i here it goes down to 6 in.thats a little extreme then i will need another pinpointer for the pinpointer?

I just got a Garrett PRO-POINTER in the mail today. Its built like a tank!! Compared to all the other pinpointers I have had, this is the best built one I have seen. And its made in the USA:usaflag:!!! I don't think a person could break it in two if they tried!! It will detect a quarter at 2" in a air test. So I give it a .
:garrett:

and it's an excellent pinpointer. I attached the holder to the shaft of my machine with tie straps. Makes it alot easier to use and you don't have to carry it in your hand or stick it in your pocket...HH

It has a threshold control to make it less sensitive. If you setup with slight threshold thats when it can hit a coin up to 6".
