The Best 4th of July Ever.

I hope that everyone had a good 4th of July.
I had my best 4th of July ever. My daughter, her husband and my 2 grandchildren from Tennessee came to visit us in Washington state.
I had bought my 6 year old granddaughter Emily her own headsets with volume controls in hot pink and purple colors. I also purchased a 1 to 2 plug in headphone jack so my granddaughter could also listen to the tones that my Legacy 3500 made. After lunch on the 4th, my daughter and her husband took my 15 month old grandson to the playground to play with him on the swings. I got out my Legacy 3500, and my digging gear.
My wife asked Emily if she wanted to go to the playground with her to join her brother and mom and dad. Emily quickly replied "No, I prefer to go metal detecting with grandpa."
My granddaughter and I dug up about 10 targets. Two of them were aluminum cans, two pull tabs, a bottle cap, part of a hot wheels car, a screw cap, a set of two keys (I teased her saying that I found the keys to her heart) and 2 zinc cents. I gave the pennies and the keys to her and we placed her treasures in a medicine pouch that I made for her. Out of all of the finds I ever made these ones were priceless because they brought a beautiful smile on a young girls face and it made my day.

Awesome story!!! It doesnt get any better than that. I do believe you've created a future MD'er. :) Thanks for sharing.

Great story Walt :)
A new Quick Draw Pro would make her a nice birthday gift.

Nice story ! Detecting memories are sometimes more valuable than your finds.
Believe this is one you and Emily will always remember.
Good hunting to you ! Gene

Awesome story!! It made me want to be there to watch!

Now, if Cooper would just grow up.......but he's only 3-1/2 months old so I have a LOOOOOOONG wait for my hunting buddy days!

Congrats on a very special day and an even more special memory!!!!!

HH y'all.

Frank

Thanks everyone. I just wanted share a happy meaningful experience with all of you. Our children and grandchildren grow up on us so fast that it's so important to spend time with them while they are still young.
There is nothing more enjoyable than spending time with your loved ones sharing a hobby that you can enjoy doing together.
HH to all of you.
