White's BeachHunter ID is not a detector you see posted about very often but I think it is underrated.
I have been using one for dry beach hunting and really like it.
A bit heavy perhaps, but the control head can be hip mounted.
Detection depth is more than adequate for searching the sandy stuff and the three tone ID (and LED's) helps identify the target before you recover it.
The iron rejection works very good also.
What I like most about it is the way it sounds and its fast, sharp report.
It is easy to pinpoint a target without changing out of the ID mode and that makes for a fast recovery in the sand.
Some tell me they use it in all metal mode to get that extra inch or so of depth but in the dry sand it goes plenty deep enough for the coins and jewelry in ID mode. If it passes under the coil you are not going to leave anything for the next fella to find.
I would really like to try the new BeachHunter ID 300 with its larger coil for extra coverage.
