the beaches are sanded in - I hate to say it - but we need a Noreaster bad !!!!

In the past 6 weeks or so, after the last Noreaster, which took approx. 3 feet of sand away from alot of the beaches in South Jersey, I have seen the prevailing westerly winds cover up standpipes that had been exposed by like I said, 3 feet of sand with the last storm. Everywhere that I commonly hunt is now sanded in. There is alot of beach surveying going on, so I guess they are gearing up for some more beach replenishment....

The word on the web and beach is sand sand sand. Strathmere and cape May are being replnished. Not sure of any others. Wildwood has been bad since that big Summer storm. Yes I'm complaining. But I know there are targets patiently waiting too.

[size=large]I know that it is getting harder to find. But if you can find a beach that hasn't been replenished in atleast 3 years or so....you will find that you have more accumulation in easier reach of your searchcoil and the chances go up that once you find that cut or low spot, You stand a better chance of a better volume of targets....Hey Tiggar.....sign up for facebook and join us on the Jersey Shore Beach and Surf Hunters group there....We are a great local resource to the beaches and we always have our finger on the pulse of what is happening and when here in Beach Hunting at the Jersey Shore !!

Yes they are sanded in and for the last 2 years but I have hit on areas that are not. You have to get out of your car and look. You can walk for 2 miles and find only a few targets but, all it takes is 1 small section of beach to make your day. I went to a beach for the last 2 days and hit well but I did the leg work, its a matter of only 500 feet that has been dug out from the wave action and that will keep you busy for hours. This south west wind hit hard this afternoon so we will see what come of it. At the end of it I got a 1k ring and these 2 silver chains 1 with a silver pendent the other with a platted silver that has worn off, all in all, lots of coins. gold and silver and a boat load of fun.

Lots of finds in that hunt plus nice jewelry.

Yea you arent kidding Tig I also live at the SJ shore right outside Ocean City and usually the beaches need sand but there is extra lately!

your right.....and they have more beach replenishment projects scheduled for this winter....Sea Isle City is getting ready to start theirs now......

And where in the " H " do you think all that sand went ? I will tell ,it came to Fla., if we get any more sand, Plases where I usest to hunt is 5' under sand. Maybe a Southeaster will work HAHA HH Ron Lord Sanded in FL.

yea Ron, I think the whole East Coast is sanded in right about now.....and they want to do more beach replenishment.....

my beach was redone last year and i think they will do it again this year couse the water goes under the boardwalk already
