The Barber Dime Lunch Time Hunt

Idxpro

New member
Yesterday's and todays hunt ......one hour total time....Maybe I won't rap this Outlaw around a tree just yet....Haha.... Not to shabby...

IDX,

That's a nice dime.......from reading your other post, I understand that you were using the 12X10 DD coil. I was thinking about buying one, how do you like it? Is it deep end to end or is it more sensitive in the middle? just trying to get some feed back on that coil.

Nice Barber Dime!

I'd like to know about the 12 x 10 DD coil as well.

beutifull, --- you can get close to trees with it

It's awesome man!! Very deep too.. To me, it's depth is consistant throughout the entire length of the coil. Some make an issue out of pinpointing and I don't understand why. While swinging left and right over the target, back drag the coil until the sound disappears. At that point, it's directly at the front tip of the coil. It's that simple. Like Gun had demonstrated in a video some time ago, telling ferrous from non ferrous is pretty cool as well. I would explain but will only confuse you. It needs to be demonstrated to really understand it. Hey Gun, maybe post the link to your video in this thread for everyone? Here's something I don't think many people do that is working really well for me...... The 10X12 DD in iron infested cellar holes!!! It is awesome with a high disc setting in this enviroment. It ignores the iron so well.....

maybe this is the Video,

Gunnar, if the bottle cap in the video is buried and out of sight, how do know it's sounding off at the edge of the coil and not near the center of the coil?

Great video and good advice! I am swinging an AT Pro right now but it's DD coil, in pin point does the same thing. Bottle caps sound "wide" like shown in the video yet a good target, a coin or ring, will sound very narrow, tight and focused. Glad to see that the Outlaw has this feature!

Tabman , even out of site, the bottle cap will have a broad signal. BUT i can check by using one side then the other or the tip . See habinaro has found the same thing ,

I believe Monte touched on this and called it "edge pass rejection" I'll see if I can find a link to it.
